I'm a former Banker who decided to not use my current employer at the time for my own Mortgage. The local bank had inferior mortgage products and the service left a lot to be desired. Even though I was an employee at the time I didn't have anyone I could specifically speak with. So I took the advice of my Realtor and called Pete Stegler, my Mortgage Specialist.

I can honestly say the service that I received since my first meeting on February 3, 2011 till my closing today November 09, 2011 was the best I've ever been given. As a first time homebuyer, I knew very little about what actually happened when trying to purchase a home. On a recommendation from my real estate agent, I called Pete Stegler. I’m writing to let you know how much I have enjoyed working with your Senior Loan Officer Mike Petchell. I first worked with Mike when I purchased my first home in 2007. I was not very well informed about the processes of buying a house but Mike walked me through every step patently until the final closing of the deal. Not only that, he called me up after several months, when the interest rate went down significantly, to help me refinance my mortgage, saving me more than a hundred dollars of monthly payment. Then, after a few years, when the interest rate was at a record low, I availed myself of his service for the third time and he helped me cut the monthly mortgage payment by a few hundred dollars. This time, it was a little complicated because my credit rating was hurt by an error on the part of the agencies, but Mike went out of his way to fix that. The whole refinance process with your company was great. It began with my first phone call to you. In late October 2009, we began to search for a second home to purchase. We finally found the home we wanted, and Ann Arbor Mortgage assisted us with the financing of the purchase.

Bill and his staff made the progression of the mortgage application and paperwork an easy process for us. Not that I recommend that others refinance their homes three times, but if they have to in order to pay for new roofs, septic fields, weddings and college degrees, I want you to know that I would HIGHLY recommend that you be there during these life changing experiences. Pete Stegler is, without a doubt, one of the world's best Mortgage Loan Officers. I am unable to adequately articulate how wonderful Pete Stegler has been to my husband and me. In short- Pete epitomizes trustworthiness, dedication, and reliability. For us, Pete went from being someone in the mortgage business, to being a trusted friend. He was a joy to work with, and we look forward to working with him in the future.

To start, Pete spent over four hours with us on first time home buyer education, thoroughly reviewing the vast influx of new vocabulary, paperwork, and mounds of information. In the following weeks he answered 100's of my questions and concerns, even going over a competitors GFE with me... line by line. He has the patience of Job, and I do not say that lightly. He will truly work to look out for your best interest.

Throughout the 6 month process Pete called us weekly, and as we got close to closing, daily. He was proactive and realistic about the many possible situations that may have arisen- keeping us well informed. He made sure, very early on that we did everything that underwriters could possibly request in order to ensure a smooth close.

One of the most meaningful things about Pete- is that he truly appreciates what buying a house is like for his client. He knows that buying a house can be stressful and It wasn't uncommon for him to stop mid conversation and ask me plainly "How are you doing, how are you really feeling about this?"

As with many new construction closings ours was delayed, leaving us potentially homeless. Pete went above and beyond to get us into our house before we had to move out of our apartment, working diligently with underwriting and our builder to make it happen.

We have already, and will continue to recommend Pete to anyone. We loved working with him, and often joke about how much we miss talking with our "mortgage guy"... honestly! You are in good hands with Pete.
